City council approves pay increases for 2014

An ordinance giving Lebanon city employees an across-the-board 5 percent pay raise passed on the second and final reading Monday at the Lebanon City Council meeting. The pay raises will take effect Jan. 1, 2014. Three council members were absent from Monday’s meeting, when the ordinance was passed. Mayor Huck Lewis and Clerk-Treasurer Tonya Thayer receive pay from both the city and through a contribution by Lebanon Utilities. With the new approved rates, next year Lewis would be paid $73,632, up $3,507 from this year. Thayer’s pay will rise $3,053 to $64,100. For more of the story, see Wednesday
