Lebanon High School community center named after IU president

After a year of discussions, Lebanon school and city officials have decided to name the community center at Lebanon High School in honor of an Indiana icon. Herman B Wells grew up in Boone County, and was a 1920 graduate of Lebanon High School. He then went on in his professional career to be a 30-year president of Indiana University. Upon learning this while reading a Wells biography, Lebanon Superintendent Dr. Robert Taylor thought it appropriate to honor a distinguished LHS alumni in some way. For more of the story see Friday's Lebanon Reporter.
