Stokes gets new therapy dog

A new four-legged student started school at Hattie B. Stokes Elementary on Monday. Shamrock, the new Stokes therapy dog, arrived in Lebanon during fall break from Missouri, where he was being trained by Jacki Barbieri, the woman who trained Perry-Worth’s therapy dog, Sparatcus. He is being kept by Megan Williams, the home school liaison for Stokes. “The training is going pretty well, and he really does love the kids,” Williams said. “He’s been able to calm down students who are in melt-down mode. He gives that comfort, support and confidence.” For more of the story, see Thursday's Lebanon Reporter.
