Brackemyre calls leaving Boone EDC 'bittersweet'

For Bryan Brackemyre, the decision to move on from working in the area he grew up in was tough. The former Boone County Economic Development Corp. executive director said he spent a lot of time pondering leaving the organization he'd been with for five years. But in the end, he decided to take a position with Ernst and Young, Indianapolis. Brackemyre was named head of the EDC in April 2013. The Zionsville native's last day with the Boone EDC will be Thursday. He will start as a manager in the state and local tax practice at Ernst and Young later in the month. "It's been unbelievable to have an influence in where I've spent my entire life," he said. "In my position, you get very emotionally invested because you work and develop so many strong relationships. It really is bittersweet. When I say I'm passionate about this area, I am." Craig Anderson, Boone EDC board of directors vice president, said it is tough to lose Brackemyre. See Tuesday's Lebanon Reporter for more on this story.
