Brannon enters sheriff race as independent

Former two-term Boone County Sheriff Dennis Brannon is again running for the office, this time as an independent.

Brannon, who was elected to his previous terms as a Republican, will face Republican nominee Boone County Sheriff Maj.

Mike Nielsen. Neilsen received more than 85 percent of the vote in the May primary over challenger Joe Dennemann.
