Gentry GOP nominee for council district three

Matthew Gentry, 25, Lebanon, was named Tuesday to replace former Sheriff Ken P. Campbell as the Republican nominee for Boone County Council District 3. Because there is no other candidate, Gentry is guaranteed election. Campbell, also of Lebanon, officially withdrew his candidacy Friday, filing a withdrawal form with the Boone County Clerk’s Office. He was the only person who ran in the May primary for the Republican party nomination for the district three seat. Incumbent Councilman Brent Wheat has moved out of the council district, and cannot seek re-election. For more of the story, see Wednesday's Lebanon Reporter.
