Task force makes fifth drug arrest

Lebanon — Johnathan M. Lee, 20, 1913 Lafayette Ave., Lebanon, became on Thursday the fifth person arrested this week on heroin charges by the Hamilton/Boone County Drug Task Force.

Boone Prosecutor Todd Meyer said he’ll use Lee’s arrest and prosecution to “send a community message in an effort to tackle this issue.”

“I am personally very discouraged by the prevalence and availability of this highly dangerous and addictive drug in this community and its use by young people,” Meyer said.

Lee is in the Boone County Jail, charged with B felony dealing in heroin, D felony possession of heroin, D felony maintaining a common nuisance, and D felony unlawful possession of a syringe. He faces a maximum of 29 years in jail and $40,000 in fines if convicted, Meyer said.
