Director is java driven

Boone County — Jen Pendleton hopes to take the Community Foundation of Boone County to the next level, and she hopes to do it with a lot of coffee.

Pendleton was named the executive director of the foundation last Wednesday, and wants to meet as many people as possible.

“I told (Community Foundation Board President) Steve David that I was going to set the record for most cups of coffee bought,” she said. “I want to find out what our residents’ needs are and what they care about.”

For Pendleton, wanting to help out is nothing new. Prior to joining the Community Foundation, she worked for 10 years at the Riley Children’s Foundation and seven years for the Kappa Alpha Theta  Foundation.

“The board and staff of the Community Foundation are thrilled to welcome Jen to our family,” David said in a press release. “She brings a wealth of experience with grantmaking, scholarships and development, which will allow her to hit the ground running. We feel fortunate that she has chosen to lend her talents to the community foundation and are confident that she is a perfect fit as we look to the future.”

The 10-year Zionsville resident has been in the non-profit sector for 20 years since graduating from Ball State University.
