No end to emergency calls in the county

More than 100 slide-offs reported

Boone County —

Between about 9 a.m. Sunday and 1:30 a.m. Monday, 115 slide-offs, 22 property damage accidents, and a rollover crash with slight injury and numerous hit and runs were reported. Several medical emergencies required medics to respond.

At 2 a.m. Boone County REMC was reporting 978 power outages in the county; Duke Energy had two outages. Current information was not available for Lebanon Utilities.

Snow continued to fall at 2 a.m., with the National Weather Service reporting a temperature of -1. With winds of nearly 30 mph, the wind chill was -25. Temperatures are expected to continue to drop throughout the day, and winds will remain strong through this evening, creating deadly conditions for persons exposed to the weather.
