Lightning hits 3 homes

Boone County — Lightning caused a house fire in Zionsville; hit three other homes, and tripped fire alarms at a church and two businesses in Zionsville and Whitestown Friday night as fierce thunderstorms with heavy lightning pounded central Indiana.

Zionsville fire units said flames were visible when they arrived at 8842 Amber Stone Court, east of CR 875 E and north of CR 400 S., shortly after the 8:45 p.m. alarm. Firefighters found the fire on the second floor of the residence and had it under control within 10 minutes.
