Fifties return to county tonight

Boone County — Dancers will hit the streets tonight with the kick-off of the 18th annual Back To The Fifties Festival on the Boone County Courthouse square.

The street dance with music from the Barometer Soup Band will be from 7 to 10 p.m., including a twist contest during the dance break. The Carmel- and Zionsville-based band is new to the festival, said organizer Carmen Ottinger, and will play music from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s.

“We hope everybody will enjoy them and come on down,” Ottinger said. “We’ll have lots of food as usual and some of the usual and some new food vendors.”
