Caring Center needs donations

Lebanon — Bags, bags, bags and more bags. The Caring Center, 1230 Ransdell Court, is completely out of grocery bags and need both plastic and paper bags donated to be used to sack clients groceries. Make sure the bags are clean and without holes.

The Caring Center is also in desperate need of volunteers to help at the center on a regular basis. Volunteers can work as their schedule allows and will help weigh, sort and stock food; sort, mark and hang clothing; help with clients; clean, organize and help with special projects; etc. Call The Caring Center  office at 482-2020 if interested in volunteering individually or as a group. Or, volunteers can just show up and be put to work.

August food needs are: canned meats, cereal, Ramen Noodles (chicken flavor is most popular), canned and/or fresh fruit, canned pineapple, cake and brownie mix, Jell-O and pudding, Tuna Helper, Hamburger Helper, evaporated milk, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, diapers (larger sizes), Pull-Ups (larger sizes).

Especially with the heat wave, there have been several requests for fans and air conditioners. Also needed are microwaves, small kitchen appliances, electric and manual can openers, pots and pans, bath towels, silverware, sweepers, etc.

To donate any of these items, drop them off at the second door on the side of The Caring Center building during our hours of operation.

Financial donations are still needed for Backpack Attack 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 6, from at the Lebanon Boys and Girls Club. Donations and volunteers are still welcome. Donated school supplies, socks and underwear can be dropped off at The Caring Center.
