Ragsdale to showcase his 'heavy shoe' dance style

Boone County — Eric Ragsdale and Suzi DeSante are sixth in this series, featuring local celebrities who will compete in Dancing with the Boone County Stars this Saturday. Ragsdale was partnered with professional dancer DeSante to take on the other six couples on the dance floor.

Eric “Heavy Shoe” Ragsdale has worked at Home National Bank for more than 16 years.

In his tongue-in-cheek biography written for the contest Ragsdale writes: "Originally from Muncie, his love of dancing brought him to Boone County more than 22 years ago — to what he called the 'dance mecca' of the near west-central tri-county region. His wife, Kari, and their children, Morgan and Sam, have long supported his love of the West Coast Swing, despite his complete lack of ability or awareness that he has none. 'Rags' — as he is affectionately known in the dancing circles of Boone County — is known for his bad sense of tempo and timing, and what he calls his 'heavy shoe' style of dancing. However, Rags is willing to do anything for a charitable cause, especially when blackmailed by Jane Taylor, executive director of Mental Health America in Boone County."

Ragdale has served on many different civic organization boards and foundations throughout the years.
