Lebanon family works to increase federal funding for Alzheimer's disease

---- — The Hatke family, of Lebanon, joined more than 800 people from across the nation to appeal to members of Congress earlier this month for action on Alzheimer’s disease.

It was the fourth time for Michael Hatke and his son Jason to attend the annual Alzheimer’s Association Advocacy Forum in Washington, D.C. It was the third time for Michael’s wife, Rita. Michael was diagnosed with the disease five years ago at the early age of 46, Rita said. At that time, Rita told herself that if the Alzheimer’s Association ever asked her to do anything, she would say yes.
