---- — Water service will be interrupted for about one hour to homes in the construction zone on North Meridian Street today through May 23, as part of a Lebanon Utilities Water Department project to upgrade water and storm sewer lines.

Workers from the utility and Calumet Civil Contractors will tell affected homeowners the morning of the day their water service will be interrupted, said Vanessa Fisher, water/wastewater/stormwater operations assistant. Work will be done Mondays through Saturdays.

The utility will post notices on doors and on its Facebook page, Fisher said.

The earliest any water will be turned off is 7:30 a.m.; the latest will be 6 p.m., Fisher said.

Those with concerns or questions can contact the utility’s water service center at 765-482-8843.

The project is being done in two phases; Meridian Street between Fordice Street and the intersection of Camp Street and Ulen Drive is to be completed before Lebanon’s Fourth of July parade. Work between Fordice Street and Washington Street is scheduled to being after the parade.
