The Lebanon Utility Water Department will begin flushing fire hydrants on May 20, in an annual maintenance procedure. Hydrants are opened and allowed to flow to clean away contaminants and scale.
Crews will begin on the north side of Lebanon and work their way south.
Each hydrant will be open for three to five minutes; low water pressure may be experienced for a short period in the area of a hydrant being flushed.
Drivers should be aware of temporary localized street flooding near hydrants being flushed.
Work will be done no earlier than 8 a.m., and end between 2 and 3 p.m., on only Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The project will conclude on June 6, weather permitting.
Persons with concerns should contact the water department at 765-482-8851.
