Advance Labor Day festival starts Saturday

The town of Advance will celebrate the holiday weekend with its annual Advance Fire Department Labor Day Festival. The festival will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday with a battle of the bands, followed by The Groove Assembly at 8 p.m. and fireworks at 9 p.m. Sunday's events start at 9 a.m. with a free breakfast, a community church service at 10:30, the pageant at 2 p.m., a pie eating contest at 3 p.m., a pet contest at 3:30 p.m., a men's sexy leg contest at 4 p.m., bingo at 5 p.m. and a street dance at 8 p.m. For more of the story, see Friday's Lebanon Reporter.
