Wells biographer to speak in county

Boone County —  

The Indiana University Boone County Alumni Association along with the Boone County Chamber of Commerce are bringing Jim Capshew, author of a new biography on Herman B Wells, to Lebanon.

Capshew will be the featured speaker at the Chamber’s monthly meeting Friday, Oct. 5, at Ulen Country Club. Lunch will begin at noon, and Capshew will speak at 12:30 p.m. Cost for lunch is $15.

Capshew recently published “Herman B Wells: The Promise of the American University,” which was published by Indiana University Press. Wells was a Boone County resident and Lebanon High School graduate, and later the IU president and chancellor.
