Fly-in benefit lands at airport Aug. 4

Zionsville — Children of all ages will have the chance to ride in a helicopter during the sixth annual Fly-In/open house Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Indianapolis Executive Airport, 11329 E. Ind. 32, Zionsville.

The event, which will kickoff at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m., is a free event although donations and proceeds from food purchases and raffles, will be donated to Down Syndrome Indiana.

Airport Marketing Associate Rosalind Montgomery said six years ago, Andi Montgomery, co-owner of Montgomery Aviation, was looking to host an event to thank the community. She said she also wanted it to be a fundraiser for a good cause. She chose DSI after she met with the director of the organization, who also is a pilot.
