Festival of the Turning Leaves kicks off Friday

Thorntown —

The town of Thorntown will celebrate its real-life super heroes this weekend during its annual Festival of the Turning Leaves, which will take place Friday through Sunday.

“Who is Your Super Hero?” is the theme of this year’s parade. Those who participate in the parade are invite to focus on any person or organization they look to as their heroes. The festival committee itself has selected the community’s service organizations as their heroes and named them the grand marshals of the 2012 parade. Those organizations include Knights of Pythias and KPW, Lions Club, Kiwanis, P.E.O., Psi Iota Si, Thorntown American Legion Post No. 218 and the Legion Auxiliary, Xi Alpha, Thorntown Businessmen’s Association and the Thorntown Masonic Lodge.
