Indy Reads to play host to first literacy summit in Boone

Boone County — Indy Reads’ new literacy initiative in Boone County will bring many community organizations together to talk about local literacy issues at a summit on Oct. 17 at the Lebanon Public Library.

This will be the ninth literacy summit for Indy Reads, but the first one held in Boone County. Indy Reads opened its first venture outside of Marion County in Boone last March, aided by a grant from the Community Foundation of Boone County, which is also helping to support this event.

“This is really designed to bring together organizations that have an impact on literacy,” said Michele Thomas, Indy Reads: Boone County program manager.
