Home and garden show kicks off Thursday

A new feature at the Boone County Home and Garden Show will hopefully draw a new and bigger crowd this year.

A portable zip-line will be set up at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

“We wanted to try to bring more of a crowd out for the exhibitors this year,” said Michelle Wiltermood, executive director of the Boone County Chamber of Commerce. “The zip-line was a big hit at the Super Bowl, and people have been really interested in this, so we thought we’d try it and see if it would help.”

Tickets are $5, but they are limited to about 250 people. Tickets can be purchased at the chamber’s booth during the show on Friday.
