Outbreak prompts Witham to restrict visitors

Boone County — Witham Memorial Hospital implemented a temporary hospital visitation restriction on Friday. This effort will limit visitors to hospital patients in order to enhance patient safety and help prevent the spread of influenza during this severe flu season.

* No visitors with influenza-like illness, fever or cough will be permitted to visit patients.

* No visitors under age 18 (unless special arrangements are made) can be on patient floors.

* No visitors will be allowed beyond immediate family, partner or significant other.

* All visitors are encouraged to perform hand hygiene before entering and after leaving a patient’s room.
