Health concerns require continuance for Servies trial

Whitestown — The trial of the Town of the Whitestown former utilities manager has been continued a second time to 8:30 a.m. Jan. 23.

According to Boone County Superior Court I, the trial for Kevin Servies, who faces four felony charges of sexual battery, one count of criminal confinement and one count of battery on a female co-worker, is being continued due to medical problems.

A motion to continue, filed by Servies’ attorney Mary K. Zahn, of Voyles Zahn & Paul, Indianapolis, states that Servies has had complications from a hernia surgery last fall. Since then, the continuance states he has had to have a number of corrective surgeries due to severe complications. He was also diagnosed with malignant endocrine cancer.
