Study sentenced to 68 1/2 years

Boone County — John O. Study, 50, Wednesday was sentenced to 68 1/2 years in prison for bank robbery and other crimes. In all, he was sentenced to 10-year terms for B felony robbery and criminal confinement and D felony resisting law enforcement and auto theft.

The former Zionsville resident was acquitted by a Superior Court I jury of pointing a firearm.

Study was convicted of robbing the State Bank of Lizton branch in Dover on March 21, 2006 and July 19, 2007, and the Key Bank branch in Zionsville on April 16, 2007 and Sept. 19, 2007.

“During this two-year crime spree, Study placed the lives of bank employees, every-day citizens, and law enforcement at risk,” Boone County Prosecutor Todd Meyer said in a press release. “As a result of his deliberate and criminal actions, he will spend the rest of his life behind bars.”
