Boone County —
The contents of Zionsville’s Carter Toy Museum were sold at auction this weekend.
The building itself was the largest single piece in the auction, but the entire toy collection, which was on display in the former museum, was up for bidding as well.
The auction began on Friday and ended Saturday. It was held at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds.
Dave Stewart, who handled the auction, said all of the toys sold for a total of more than $500,000.
Mickey Edward, daughter of the late Robert Carter, whose extensive toy collection was highlighted in the toy museum, said it was hard selling off everything her father had collected.
