Western Boone rolling out laptops for staff

Teachers and principals in the Western Boone County Community School Corp. will soon be using computers capable of pretzel-like contortions.

For $117,000, the corporation bought Lenovo Thinkpad Twist computers with 12.5-inch screens that, to paraphrase company literature, twist, bend, fold and spin. The computers can be used as a laptop, with a traditional keyboard, or as a tablet. When in laptop mode, the screen can be set at an angle, making it easier for more than one person to view information.
