Patricia Anne Doan

Patricia Anne Doan, 82, Lebanon, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at 4:20 a.m. at Signature Healthcare at Parkwood in Lebanon.

Mrs. Doan was born in Indianapolis on April 3, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Audrey Dean and Goldie (Priest) Smith.

Patricia was raised and educated in the Indianapolis area.

On Aug. 3, 1946, she was married to Perle Doan in Indianapolis. Mr. Doan passed away on May 11, 1990.A longtime resident of Boone County, Patricia worked hard raising her children and taking care of her family and home; she loved every moment of it. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren when they came along.

She was a member of Trinity Chapel in Lebanon.

Survivors include nine children: Perle Ray Doan and wife, Sandra of Advance; Ruth A. Taylor and husband, Ronald of Lebanon; Karen Allen and husband, Ronald of Thorntown; Maita M. Gabbard and husband, Danny of Lebanon;, Mark L. Doan and wife, Jeanne of Mason, Ohio; Betty Shrake of Plainfield; Joyce Hawkins of Atlanta, Ga.; Robert Doan and wife, Carolyn of Orlando Beach, Fla., and Earl “Butch” Carrico and wife, Della of Inverness, Fla.; a brother, Charles M. Smith and wife, Joan of Indianapolis; two sisters, Gail M. Whitis and husband, Forrest of Fortville; Elaine Wingler and husband, Lester of Medora, and numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Patricia was preceded in death by two children; Audrey Hale and Michael Doan; a brother, Harry Robbins; and four sisters, Marilyn Hurt, Theresa Powell, Ruth Smith and Roxie VanHorn.

Funeral services are planned for 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon St., in Lebanon.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at the funeral home in Lebanon.

Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
