Cleanest City Celebration

Lebanon —

Orange flooded Lebanon Memorial Park Thursday evening for the one-year anniversary celebration of Lebanon: The Cleanest City in Indiana initiative. Residents came out for free hot dogs and received information on the initiative and free “butt buckets” for cigarette butts. “I want to thank everyone for coming out,” said Jerry Erskine, Cleanest City president and Lebanon Rotary member. “I hope you all are noticing there’s a lot less litter around town, and it’s all because of people like you.” Those at the celebration were also filmed, along with the Lebanon High School’s mascot and cheerleaders, as part of Indianapolis’ WTHR news channel’s Decision 2012: On the Road. WTHR’s Andrea Morehead broadcast live from the park before heading to the Lebanon Municipal Building for a town hall meeting.
