Honoring the fallen

Boone County — Members of the Zionsville Police Department Honor guard, Sam Dennemann (left), Adam Harper, Adrian Martin and Scott Abbott present the colors to open the annual local observance of National Peace Officers Memorial Day, Wednesday morning on the north steps of the Boone County Courthouse. Standing “on post” during the color presentation were honor guard members Josh Samuelson and Drake Sterling. Speakers included Sheriff Ken Campbell, Lebanon Police Chief Sam Myers, Boone County Dispatch Center commander Tom Garoffolo, and Pastor Mike Goforth, who gave the invocation and benediction. About 50 people attended the event.
