New construction project a possibility for Lebanon schools

Lebanon — A future project was discussed by the Lebanon Community School Corporation board Tuesday that may move the building and grounds facility from the high school campus to behind the middle school, and create a new concession area next to the football field.

Bob Ross, LCSC executive director of resources and operations, said they have been exploring options for a project like this for “quite a long time.” The proximity of the current building and grounds facility to the high school is of some concern because it houses fuel tanks.

Ross invited Terry Lancer and Mark Beebe, from Lancer + Beebe, an architectural and design firm, to give a presentation on what the project could look like.

“In a perfect world, I’d come to you next month and ask permission to move forward seeking proposals, get approval in May and complete it this fall,” Ross said. “I believe that could be doable, but it has to fit in with our grounds work.”
