Boone to join in regional economic development effort

Boone County — Boone will join Clinton, Hendricks, Montgomery and Tippecanoe counties in a informal regional agreement intended to attract new businesses to the region.

Boone County Economic Development Corp. director Dax Norton said he will work with his counterparts in those counties to develop a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, after a recent meeting at which they agreed to pursue the idea.

Having a CEDS will allow all of the counties to apply for grants from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, an agency of the Comommerce Department.
