---- — After a request for $25,000 to purchase new downtown Christmas light displays earlier this month, the Lebanon City Council Monday approved to fund $10,000 worth of lights, or 16 individual displays. Cindy Poore of the city’s downtown Christmas light committee, spoke to the council at Monday’s meeting, requesting the funds. The original $25,000 request would have funded 42 lights, she said, but the decreased amount will fund 16. Michelle Wiltermood of the committee approached the council earlier this month with the initial funding request. She said Lebanon Utilities had contacted her with the news that the current Christmas lights are in such disrepair that they cannot be used this season.
