Remediation improves county IREAD passing rates

Summer remediation greatly helped Lebanon Community and Western Boone Community school corporation students pass the IREAD-3 test this year. Will Pullins, Lebanon’s former director of assessment, said IREAD results were a little disappointing in the spring. IREAD is a reading test given to all third-graders statewide that must be passed in order for them to move on the fourth grade. LCSC’s passing average was 84.8 percent in the spring, 4.3 percent lower than the 89.1 percent average passing rate in 2012 and lower than the state average, at 86 percent.
