---- — Don Bryenton of Cardno ATC, an environmental engineering firm, told the Lebanon City Council this week that his company and IDEM have developed protocols for testing lime sludge that has been dredged from the Hot Pond. A plan to deepen the fishing pond was aborted on Aug. 2, when lime that had been dumped into the pond for years was stirred up by the dredging. The lime flowed into Prairie Creek, prompting the project to be halted, the city to call in the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, and the stream to be diverted through special filters until the last traces of lime were removed.
