Boone County — Freezing rain and sleet pushed by gusty winds downed dozens of tree limbs in Lebanon before temperatures warmed into the high 30s Tuesday.

“I’m glad I’m not dealing with snow on top of the ice,” Lebanon Street Superintendent Larry Lee said Tuesday afternoon. He had been worried about that possibility when temperatures fell below freezing about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

“The temperature is up and we’ve noticed a lot of the ice is breaking up,” he said about 2 p.m.
