---- — It was a tough loss for the Western Boone Stars girls basketball team Saturday night against Brownsburg.

The Stars let a late lead slip away in a 58-57 loss.

"We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory," Western Boone head coach Rich Schelsky said. "We did a lot of things we needed to do in order to win, but did just enough wrong at the end of the game to lose. The frustrating thing is that at the end we looked like the small school that wasn't supposed to win rather than a one-loss highly ranked team."

Schelsky said part of the Stars' growing process is going from hunter to hunted.

"That is part of becoming a good team and maturing," Schelsky said. "We have gotten to the point where people are gunning for us and want to beat us. We have to be able to handle that and embrace that. We have to believe in ourselves and our abilities. We don't want to shy away from those abilities."

Western Boone was up seven at the half, but saw the lead cut to two at the end of three.

The fourth quarter was back-and-forth in the fourth quarter, before the Bulldogs pulled out the win.
