Eagles take down Tigers in three-game sweep

The Zionsville volleyball team was playing their seventh match in six days Tuesday night when they hosted county foe Lebanon in a non-conference match-up. But you wouldn't have been able to tell watching them play. The Eagles swept the Tigers 25-15, 25-8, 25-20 to improve to 13-2 on the season. The loss dropped the Tigers to 10-9. "I think in the second game we really did everything correct," Zionsville head coach Dawn Jones said. "We had the most hustle we have had in a while tonight. We were able to keep balls up and I think that shows where we are right now in the season." Jones said matches against other county schools are something the Eagles look forward to. "I think they get up for it because they know people on the other team," Jones said of her girls. "I think when you know the other team, it just adds that personal touch." For Lebanon it was sort of a roller coaster match. The Tigers played well for a majority of games one and three, yet couldn't seem to piece anything together in the second game.
