Greyhounds race past Lebanon 5-0

The Lebanon Tigers boys soccer team knew they had a difficult draw in the opening round of the sectional Thursday night. And although they hung around as long as they could, the Tigers fell to seventh-ranked Carmel 5-0 Thursday night. "It is always going to be a steep mountain to climb in our sectional," Lebanon head coach Ryan Tucker said. "We just go out there, hope for the best and hopefully we get a shot and execute it when we have the chance. We tried to hold them as long as we could, but it didn't happen for us this year. Hats off to my guys. I am going to miss the nine seniors and it has been a good year for us. This has still been a success. We had a better record in conference, won 10 games and had eight shutouts. That is pretty good." Carmel scored in the 12th and 24th minutes to lead 2-0 at halftime. They added goals in the 49th, 57th and and 63rd minutes to provide the final margin. The score could have been worse if not for the strong play of goalkeeper Jonas Gustavson, who made 11 saves in the match. For more of this story, read Thursday's Lebanon Reporter.
