---- — The goal from the beginning of the season was simple for the Western Boone volleyball team — win a third-straight sectional and make amends for two losses in the regional. The first part of the that goal was easily accomplished Saturday evening, as the Stars cruised past Crawfordsville 3-0 (25-5, 25-14, 25-16) to win their seventh sectional title and fourth in five years. "It feels awesome," Western Boone head coach Laura Lawson said. "Especially doing it with this group of seniors, because they are the ones that really deserve it." The senior class for Western Boone has gone a combined 115-21 in their four years so far, winning three conference and three sectional titles. They will look to add to their legacy with the school's first regional title. "I really think they started the success of the program," Lawson said. "All the younger girls have really looked up to them, and at the end of the season they will have a big spot to fill." Western Boone came out on fire in the opening set of the match. After being tied 4-4, Western Boone closed on a 21-4 run to win the set 25-5. Emily Harrison had five kills in the set, while Casi Neff and Lauren Marsh each had four. Lydia Climer had 14 assists in the set. For more of this story, read Tuesday's Lebanon Reporter.
