Four Lebanon baseball standouts got to represent Lebanon High School one last time in the spring of 2013 Sunday afternoon in the Indiana Elite North/South All-Star Game played at Decatur Central High School.
Recent graduates Travis Herrin, Ryan Reese and Michael Spolyar played for the 3A North Senior All-Stars, while junior Isaac Harker played for the North in the 3A Junior game.
“It felt good to be able to play in it,” Herrin said. “All these guys are probably elite players on their teams and it was good to be able to play with and against them.”
Reese echoed those sentiments.
“It was a lot of fun even though I didn’t think I played that well,” Reese said. “Just to come together with a group of kids you don’t really know and have fun and get the experience of playing against kids you don’t normally see.”
Spolyar said that he appreciated being selected for the team — knowing that not everyone gets the opportunity.
“I am just thankful to have an opportunity to play in this game,” he said. “Not everyone has a chance to play in something like this.”
