Montgomery enjoys time with Indiana All-Stars

Recent Lebanon graduate Ashlyn Montgomery represented the Lebanon Tigers one last time on Saturday, participating in the Indiana All-Stars Classic. The game featured 42 of the top senior players in the state playing in a double header at Carmel's Cherry Tree Softball Complex. "It was an awesome experience to play with all these really talented girls that are going on to play in college," Montgomery said. "It was a super good experience, I got to make new friends, and it was a lot of fun." Montgomery was also the first Lebanon girl to be named first-team all-state in softball. She and the rest of the All-Stars were honored at a banquet on Friday before the games on Saturday. She said when she found out about the honors, she was happy. "That was really awesome," Montgomery said. "It was a really big honor to get both of those. I felt like it was a big achievement for me, and I couldn't have done it without all the love and support of all my family and friends and teammates." Montgomery said that she knew some of the girls from travel ball. See Tuesday's Lebanon Reporter for more on this story.
