Lebanon’s Curtis named Indiana All-Star

Lebanon — Lebanon senior Katie Curtis can add one more accolade to her impressive resume — Indiana All-Star.

The Colgate-bound Curtis was named to the 14-girl squad Wednesday morning.

“It is a very good feeling,” Curtis said Thursday night. “Playing basketball in Indiana my whole life, I know that Indiana All-Star is one of the biggest accomplishments you can have. I am happy to be a part of it.”

Curtis was an Indiana Junior All-Star last season, getting a chance to play against the senior team and the Kentucky juniors in Louisville last summer.

She said playing in all-star games is different than regular season with Lebanon.

“It is a much quicker pace in all-star games,” Curtis said. “The girls are faster and bigger. Playing in them last year and in AAU has given me a good perspective. It is just a different type of game.”

Curtis was an all-conference and all-state performer this season for the Tigers, averaging 17.2 points, 4.5 assists, 3.8 steals and 3.1 rebounds while helping Lebanon to a 21-4 record at a ranking as high as No. 1.

The Tigers won both the conference and sectional titles for the third-straight year.

She is just the fourth Lady Tiger to ever be an Indiana All-Star — joining Maggie Boyer, Suzie Hammel and Jami Sloan.
