---- — After a slow start to the game, the Zionsville boys lacrosse team turned it on in the second half against Noblesville Wednesday night.
The Eagles scored 13 goals in the second half and topped the Millers 17-9, moving to a perfect 3-0 in the Hoosier Crossroads Lacrosse Conference.
"We had a few guys step up and insert some fire into our lineup," Zionsville head coach Matt Garvey said when asked about the difference in the second half. "Our goalie Ben Gould, defender Nate Reinhardt and forward Ben Sherman lite a fire under us."
The Eagles led 4-3 at the half, but two quick Noblesville goals in the second half gave the Millers a 5-4 lead.
Two goals by Cameron Bender and another by Cameron Wilson gave Zionsville a 7-5 lead, but three goals by Noblesville in a span of 1:06 put the visitors up in front with 4:32 remaining in the third quarter.
The Eagles responded, tying the game with 2:41 left in the quarter on a goal by Matt Welch, then getting two goals by Sherman in the final two minutes of the frame to take a 10-8 lead heading into the final period.
