Lebanon softballThe Lebanon softball team remained perfect on the season Thursday, topping Frankfort 4-1.
Just like they did Tuesday, the Tigers jumped out in front of the Hot Dogs in the first inning.
Ashlyn Montgomery singled and advanced to third on Brooke Montgomery’s single. Two batters later, Carly Greene reached first on a fielders’ choice on a play that saw Ashlyn Montgomery tagged out at home.
Brooke Montgomery scored on a wild pitch and Greene scored when she stole third and the throw got away for an error.
But just like Tuesday, the Tigers’ bats went cold. Lebanon managed just one hit in the next four innings and left the bases loaded in the fourth to allow Frankfort to stay in the game.
The Hot Dogs scored in the top of the fourth to get within 2-1, but Lebanon scored twice in the sixth to provide some seperation. Whitney Cosgray tripled to lead off the inning and scored when Makayla Copeland reached on an error. Copeland eventually scored on a single by Ashlyn Montgomery.
Ashlyn got the win on the mound, pitching the first four innings and giving up four hits and a run. Jessica Weaver pitched three perfect innings for the save.
Lexy Britt added two hits for the Tigers, who are back in action tonight against Westfield.
Lebanon baseballThe Lebanon baseball team saw its record fall to 7-2 with a 7-6 loss to Frankfort.
The Tigers fell behind 6-0 heading to the bottom of the second inning. Lebanon was able to score three runs in the bottom half of the inning. Isaac Harker and Caleb Myers reached to lead off the inning and Jackson Bennett singled home Harker for Lebanon’s first run. Nick Starkey and Brantley Fortner added RBIs in the inning to make it 6-3.
Lebanon added a run in the fourth. Bennett doubled and then scored when Reid Schaller reached on an error.
