In one of their toughest games this season, the Lebanon Tigers softball team found a way to win Monday night against Pendleton Heights.
The Class 3A No. 4 Tigers got seven strong innings from Ashlyn Montgomery and RBIs from Brooke Montgomery and Jessica Weaver to hold off the Class 4A No. 14 Arabians 2-1.
The win improved the Tigers to 12-0 on the season.
"I think our girls were ready to play," Lebanon head coach Steve Smith said. "They know some of the girls on their team and knew the talent that we were going to face. Just to be able to compete with them was the goal, and to come away with a win is a bonus."
The game was scoreless for the first two innings.
Pendleton Heights took a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the third, but Lebanon came right back in the bottom half of the inning.
Kassidi Cadle walked with one out and after a line out, stole second pass. Brooke Montgomery came through with a single to tie the game at 1.
After Ashlyn Montgomery put down the Arabians in order in the fourth inning, the Tigers took the lead.
