Tigers look to continue historic run

The Class 3A No. 2 Lebanon baseball team has been rewriting the Lebanon record books this season.

At 25-3, the Tigers won their first outright conference title since 1992 and their first sectional title since 2000. Now they are looking for the school's first regional baseball title and first boy's regional title in any sport since 1998.

Lebanon head coach Rick Cosgray said the team will be ready to go.

"We took Wednesday off because of the weather, but we got together as a team," Cosgray said. "It was nice to sit down as a team and talk about the regional that day and what to expect. We are anxious to get on the practice field and have two good days of preparation."

Lebanon beat 8-time defending sectional champion Crawfordsville in the sectional semi-final and then avenged two of their three regular season losses by beating Frankfort, who previously beat them twice, for the sectional title.

Cosgray said that while the kids were happy to accomplish the goal of winning the sectional, they have their eyes on a bigger prize.
