Lebanon head volleyball coach Rob Zajdel resigned Thursday morning.
He had been the coach for the past three seasons.
“Coach Zajdel and I had a meeting and this was a decision that he felt and I supported, that was best for him and the program,” Lebanon athletic director Phil Levine said in an email Thursday morning. “I appreciate everything Coach Zajdel has done for the program over the last few years and wish him all the best.”
The Tigers finished 12-20 this season and 2-5 in the Sagamore Conference.
Lebanon won four of their final five matches this season before losing to eventual sectional champion Western Boone in the sectional semifinals.
Lebanon never finished above .500 under Zajdel, posting a 33-56 the past three years, including a 7-14 mark in the conference.
The Tigers advanced to the sectional championship game in 2010 before losing to North Montgomery.
The search for a new coach will begin in the near future.
