WeBo leads at half of suspended game

Michigantown — The Class 3A number 3 Western Boone Stars lead Clinton Central 27-7 at the half at their game Friday night. Play will resume at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Western Boone got on the board first with a touchdown pass on a fourth and 10, Logan Wethington connecting with Riggs Baxter from 30 yards out three minutes into the game.

The lead extended to 13-0 early in the second quarter when Baxter recovered a fumble and ran it 38 yards for a score.

Clinton Central brieflly took momentum on the next the possession with Jordan Petty ran for a 45-yard touchdown, but western Boone grabbed momentum right back at the end of the half. Wethington found Austin Burtner for a 20-yard pass with 356 remaining in the half. And on the final play of the first half, Wethington for Baxter on a 46-yard flea flicker to make the score 27-6 heading into the break.

Wethington was 6 of 11 passing for 121 yards and three touchdowns and Baxter had four cathces for 98 yards in the first half.
