---- — The Western Boone tennis team has had a historic start to the season. With Tuesday's 5-0 win against Frankfort, the Stars are 8-0 for the first time in school history. "The guys have made it a goal to break the school record for wins," Western Boone head coach Dustin Cunningham said. "The kids knew today that they already have the record for most consecutive wins. We had a quick reminder before today's match about how we were playing for one of the top spots in the conference and they did what they are supposed to." At No. 1 singles, David James topped the previously unbeaten Mason Townsley 6-4, 7-5. "David played the best match of his career today," Cunningham said. "He did a good job of getting to his overheads, drop shots, he got to everything. He hit a couple of good winners too and forced Mason into some errors and mental mistakes." After moving to No. 1 singles last week, James dropped the first couple of matches at the new position. For more of this story, read Wednesday's Lebanon Reporter.
